Excellence Programs

1. Al Ma’soem Junior High School is an Islamic-based secondary school offering both Full Day School and Boarding School systems. Its alumni have achieved numerous accomplishments and remain actively involved in various activities. Many graduates continue their education at Al Ma’soem Senior High School, while others pursue their studies at leading senior high schools in Bandung.
2. The Character-Based Scholarship Program provides a benefit of six months of free tuition fees to the 9 or 10 students with the best character in each grade cohort.
3. Discipline applies to all participants in the education process, including students, university students, teachers, management staff, and Foundation administrators. As a consequence, sanctions are imposed firmly, proportionately, and consistently.

Another distinctive feature is the special emphasis placed on Islamic studies and the practice of Islamic teachings, including:

1. Require students to recite the Shahada and undergo a religious knowledge test during the orientation period.
2. Additional hours are allocated for Islamic studies. At this Islamic school, religious education is taught for nearly 120 minutes per lesson, compared to general subjects, which are taught for only 45 minutes.
3. Requiring students to perform the Dhuhr and Asr prayers in congregation.
4. Organizing Islamic Holiday Commemorations (PHBI)
5. Conducting an independence test as a special requirement for grade promotion, with the following criteria:
   • Students progressing from Grade VII to Grade VIII must understand fiqh and practice acts of worship up to a certain level.
   • Students progressing from Grade VIII to Grade IX must be able to read the Qur’an.
   • To graduate, students in the Qur’an Tahfidz specialization class must memorize at least 3 Juz, while other students must memorize at least Juz 30.

AL MA’SOEM DISTINCTIVE CULTURE (AL MA’SOEM CULTURE)

1. School Hours, Breaks, and Dismissal: Monday to Thursday, 07:30–15:45; Friday, 07:30–15:55.
2. Register Earlier, Pay Lower Fees, Special benefits are provided to prospective students who register earlier through lower registration fees. If they withdraw by the specified deadline, all fees already paid will be fully refunded, except for the registration fee.

4. Teaching and Learning Activities (KBM). Teaching and learning activities are conducted from Monday to Friday. Extracurricular activities are held on Fridays.
5. Homeroom Teacher Autonomy. The homeroom teacher is fully responsible for students’ academic development and behavior. The main duties of the homeroom teacher include guiding students to develop positive behavior and high intellectual abilities; understanding in detail each student’s identity and socio-economic background; assisting students in resolving academic and other problems; providing scheduled class guidance and mentoring; conducting home visits and/or inviting parents to help resolve student issues; recording and summarizing student absences and disciplinary violations; working together with students to maintain classroom facilities and cleanliness; motivating students to comply with applicable regulations; serving as ceremony supervisor when their class is assigned to conduct the flag ceremony; completing report cards accurately, carefully, and neatly and distributing them according to the established schedule; maintaining regular and intensive communication with parents; coordinating with counselors and the Homeroom Teacher Support Team (P2WK); and cooperating and consulting with the Principal in resolving strategic student-related issues.
6. Continuing Homeroom Teacher. This system is a further development of the Homeroom Teacher Autonomy concept. Under this system, student guidance is carried out continuously from Grade VII through Grade XI.

Supporting Facilities for Students at Al Ma’soem Islamic Junior High School Bandung

SPECIAL POLICIES

1. No Re-registration or Annual Registration Required.
2. There is no “idle time”; after the Mid-Semester Examination (UTS), students immediately resume effective learning.
3. Students are given a holiday on working days that fall between public holidays.
4. Rescheduling of Non-Islamic Religious Holidays
5. Students who are absent without explanation beyond the permitted limit are not allowed to take the semester examination.
6. Sanctions for drug-related, immoral, criminal, and cheating cases are imposed without warning stages; students are immediately returned to their parents.
7. The uniform skirt must be ankle-length, whether the student wears a hijab or not.
8. Additional activities are voluntary, such as educational trips, scientific visits, graduation ceremonies, and others.
9. No additional fees are charged during the course of study.
10. Ceremonial Activities in the Form of Dissemination and Socialization of Foundation Programs
11. Ceremonial activities are held every two weeks, alternating between Junior High School and Senior High School. When no ceremony is scheduled, students receive KPAM (Al Ma’soem Model Behavior Convergence) guidance from their homeroom teachers.
12. Dissemination and socialization of Foundation programs are conducted on Mondays during the first period, with the following agenda: Recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah, Al Ma’soem March, Indonesia Raya, Shalawat, dissemination, socialization of Foundation programs and policies, prayer, and announcements. During the announcements, students are not required to stand; they may sit comfortably while remaining attentive within the designated area.
13. Friday Prayer. Male Junior High School and Senior High School students are required to perform Friday prayers at school. During Friday prayers, female students participate in Islamic guidance sessions for girls.
14. Congregational Dhuhr Prayer is Mandatory for Junior High School Students. Supervision is carried out by homeroom teachers, the Homeroom Teacher Support Team (P2WK), and the Imtaq-Iptek Coordinator. Sanctions for students who do not perform the prayer are applied simultaneously across all classes.
15. Additional Learning Materials at No Extra Cost, such as Computer and Internet Practice, Mathematics and Natural Sciences (MIPA), Islamic Studies, English, Arabic, and Character Education.
16. Various Extracurricular Activities with Complete Facilities. Professional coaches are provided at no additional cost, and several activities have already progressed toward a professional level.
